About Us

mission

ARTS! By The People, Inc. is a non profit organization serving the communities of Northern New Jersey. Our mission is to conduct educational programs, classes and sessions in the creative arts, including art, music, dance movement and creative writing, for the public, especially for seniors and youth.

Our goal is to empower individuals through collaborative acts of self expression. We believe that self awareness and communication come forth in shared creative acts, and that the arts offer universal benefits for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our interest lies in facilitating creative environments in order to help people become comfortable with their own creative process and find its best place in their lives.

We feel that the creative arts can teach children important values of self-confidence and motivation and reward senior citizens with a dynamic interactive group setting.

A partial list of programs made possible by generous donations and grants:

  • Weekly arts, poetry and writing classes for senior citizens

  • Weekly workshops in performance, creative writing and visual arts for youth

  • Residency and after school programs at local schools

  • Museum, performance and gallery visits to view work and meet artists

  • Open studio sessions enabling the public to view our participant's works
  • Helping local area youth with community service obligations

All our programs are free.
We believe that the arts should be available and accessible to all!
